2019 TRAINING AND NEWS
The Valdosta Fire Department will be hosting Acting Officer in Charge (AOIC) July 15-18, 2019. This course is one of three classes needed for NPQ Fire Officer I following the Georgia Fire Academy curriculum. I have included the course description and link if you have individuals within your organization that would like to register for the class. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Course Description This is a 32 hour course for the firefighter who is ready to take on the responsibility and training necessary to become a Fire Company Officer, or is already a Company Officer with a desire to be professionally challenged. The student will be asked to demonstrate basic operational functions to include incident size-up and risk management at the lowest level. The benefit of the training is that it gives students an understanding of the operational requirements of the line supervisor/company officer. Fire Department and EMS Fusion, Firefighter Safety and Readiness, Smoke Dynamics, and Building Construction considerations are just a few of the items discussed in the course delivery.
